The swifts flew back into town yesterday, so all’s right with the world!

The downside is that it’s yet another reminder of time passing.

At my age you don’t need that. Every time I log on to this website I’m told what the date is.

Derek Jacobi said recently that he knew the interval was over – and he’s a year younger than me!

Never mind, the swifts are screaming in a blue sky despite the climate change gloompots. They, swifts not gloompots, live all their lives on the wing, bar nesting, so their feet are useless and they can only cling to something vertical, not walk on the flat. P’raps I’ll write about Silver one day who fell from the nest onto our front door mat. It’s a happy-ending story, the ones we like best, eh?

Sean is doing well at home with his new kidney, thank the Lord.

It would be nice to read more about Silver… Did you manage to put him back in the nest?

Silver was far from commonplace and would require more words than I can allow myself here. He will appear under “Family” in due course.
